About the role
The Insight Executive role is a key to the DMA’s purpose of being the driving force of intelligent marketing. It is also a unique opportunity to gain insight, learn from and build relationships with senior influencers from across the data and marketing industry.
This role is pivotal in ensuring organisations have the insight, knowledge and research to continue to put consumers at the heart of everything they do – the core principle of the DMA Code.
The role presents an opportunity to develop insight and research campaigns to inform a thriving industry. Insight sits at the heart of the DMA’s activity – from vital insight for lobbying and PR activities to foundation studies to uncover game-changing customer research.
The successful candidate will be the driving force behind flagship studies such as Customer Engagement and Skills Census, as well as creating new projects that uncover future trends around technology, data, craft and customer behaviour.
The DMA is perfectly positioned to benefit from input from key stakeholders across brands, agencies and technology companies whilst influencing and driving change at a senior level. DMA thought leadership is frequently quoted in the media and plays a significant role in informing government departments and regulators about the current and future state of play.
The Insight Executive is responsible for helping and supporting on all insight projects across the DMA. The successful candidate should embody the DMA Values (below). As we work with such a wide variety of different personalities, capabilities and seniorities, they should also be:

Your Responsibilities
• Support all research and insight conducted by the DMA, including liaising with key stakeholders and sponsors where required
• Help to manage internal and external stakeholders – including members’ expectations in the identification and conduct of new and emerging research priorities, and partnerships with other organisations and research suppliers
• Support project management of up to 20 DMA insight/research projects from briefing stage to launch, including broad sector-wide research projects, channel-focused benchmarking reports, volunteer-led special interest insight and bespoke surveys for internal use
• Help develop, script and test research methodologies to ensure veracity and consistency
• Analyse and interpret results using both quantitative and qualitative methods
• Create insight driven thought-pieces based on desk research and other secondary research sources. This will include maintaining a diary of external media research launches and producing a regular insight newsletter for DMA staff.
• Prepare presentations, reports and other written summaries that are organised in a logical manner and clearly communicates findings, including thought leadership content for the DMA’s owned channels (email/PR/social media/website)
• Coordinate all research marketing, in liaison with the customer engagement, events, membership and other relevant teams to increase both participation and exposure for DMA research
• Research and maintain knowledge of best practices relevant to one-to-one data-driven marketing, providing ongoing improvement and advice for DMA business plans, contribute to annual research strategy, including input on the development of tools, techniques and processes
• Field queries from DMA Committee and Council members and DMA members
Reporting structures
The DMA Insight Executive reports directly to the DMA Director of Insight. They will also be part of the Operations, Events and Communities team within the DMA.
