About the company

We’re an award-winning international insight consultancy, fusing a range of approaches – quantitative and qualitative primary research, behavioural sciences, cultural insights and semiotics, creative illustration and design – to drive growth and disruption for our clients. Our offices are based in US and UK, but we operate in 60+ countries worldwide and across a wide spectrum of audiences and verticals.

Our team are passionate, imaginative and super-smart, enabling us to deliver bespoke, amazing ad hoc projects and ongoing tracking across the globe. We’re unified by a love for simplicity, clarity, and creating change.

About the role

Basis, an independent insight consultancy, is looking for a Graduate Research Executive to join its quantitative team in London.

The culture at Basis is friendly and non-hierarchical: we believe in training our graduates up fast with hands-on support every step of the way. From day one, you’ll be working on live projects, helping to deliver strategic insight for brands globally. Our work is challenging and varied, across categories like tech, media, travel, FMCG and more. We have projects which speak to a huge range of interests, so you’ll be working on something new and exciting all the time. One week you might be uncovering potential for vegan food products in Germany; and the next, measuring opportunities for new tech in the US, or helping to reposition a home brand in Japan and India.

A background in research is not essential. We’re looking for…

 Strong writing and communication skills, with full English fluency
 Curiosity for people – who they are, and what drives them
 A problem-solving mindset: motivated to find solutions for our clients’ challenges
 Both a team player and a self-starter
 Heaps of enthusiasm and determination
 Willingness to travel for work – in the UK with international opportunities too
 Flexibility: open to varying working hours, and no two weeks being the same
 An ability to think logically and work quickly
 Organisational and time management skills
 Strong attention to detail
 Digital competence: able to work digitally across platforms, or willing to upskill
 At least a 2.1 in any university degree
 Ability to speak another language is a plus but not essential
 The successful candidate must, by the start of the employment, have permission to work in the UK and be
able to work 5 days per week from our Central London office

Graduate Research Executives at Basis start on a salary of £26,000. On top of this, some of the benefits we offer:

 25 days of annual leave, plus public holidays and the Christmas period off
 Loyalty rewards
 Private healthcare and eye tests
 Pension contributions
 A discretionary bonus scheme
 Cycle to Work scheme, season ticket loans, lots of social events and an annual company trip abroad

This opportunity is for a Spring 2024 start; we’re flexible for the right person. It’s a fully office-based role in our beautiful offices a few minutes from Tottenham Court Road, complete with rooftop terrace!

If you’re interested, please send your application to careers@basisresearch.co.uk, with the subject ‘Qual – Graduate Research Executive’, by Friday 9 th February.

Please attach your CV, along with a 250-word response to each of these questions: ‘Tell us about a brand that you feel is not ready for 2024’ and ‘Think of a social issue in the world today that would benefit from research and insight to solve - what kind of questions would you want to answer through research, and why?’
